Market research simply means identifying the product you want to be selling in the international market, let’s take for instance, someone is selling beeds whereas someone else is selling red oil, the demand for the later is way higher than that of the beeds. So when you pick your product, just make sure it’s a product that will sell no matter what. Don’t just pick a product simply because you love it or it’s beautiful. Pick a product that there will always be a market for it. Now do you need to have your own product before you can start exporting? If you have your own product it’s perfect but if you don’t have, you can still export because not all of us have the processing facility to produce our own products. So you can get a product that is already selling very well locally and internationally or you can get a product even if it’s not popularly known but it’s packaged nicely, you can pick that product and sell. All you just need to know is get information from the supplier about the availability of the product, if they are available, go ahead with the product. Another thing that you might now be considering is the pricing. How do you choose the price? Well, to determine the price you are going to charge, you need to first know how much they are selling that product in the city or the country you are targeting or the place you are going to be selling the product. How much are people or Africans buying it over there at the moment, how much are they selling it in the Africa shops, you need to know how much they are selling so you can come up with a competitive price that will give you an edge over those who are already in the business. So in other to identify the price of the price of the product in the international market, I use…..So guys to know more about how I do my market research and fix my price, you can join our free export training class.
